My Band Fridays: The Zombies

Its funny i have heard people say they like the zombies and i was like oh no its just another death metal band....boy was i totally wrong! If you havent already guessed it i love 60's music. so much i am addicted to it really. while listening to pandora i came across this song i so loved little did i know it was the zombies! two of my faves are shes not there and time of the season!

I totally wish i could look like jenny lewis. I love her style and her pretty red hair. she is just so inspiring to me and being totally obsessed with her her new album i thought it would be totally fitting to have her as my style muse. Especially in those great hats!

My First Week of School!

August 30th i started a whole new semester of school. I have to say i have been overwhelmingly happy with the classes i have chosen to take.  For me what makes a class interesting is a professor who is passionate about the subject he or she is teaching. The only problem i have been having all week is i have been having dizzy spells and crazy headaches.  Other than my health issues everything has been going pretty well. Painting, Photo Litho, and Screen are my favorite classes to get into. The history & art history classes are fun to listen to.  I plan to share more personal photos when i am creating my prints or painting projects. Also the art rooms are pretty crazy you never know what kind of art work you will find in the halls or just lying around.


This is inbetween both the print 1 studio and the photo litho studio i thought it was kinda funny in a modest mouse dashboard kinda way.

I also am taking an art journaling class with the lovely Vivianna from polka dot robot. So in between painting little freaking boxes with oil paint and coming up with a plan of study for my intermediate print class. I like to relax by making the art journal pages from the class while listening to the new jenny and johnny album. totally the best way to spend the first days of an already overwhelming semester.

When i first heard of this new project between Jenny Lewis and johnny rice i was ecstatic. i immediately went to their main web page and wanted to pre-order the album i was like "oh i'll just get the cheepest one because i just want to listen to the new music" well it didnt go down like that i saw that they had a limited edition deluxe package with a vinyl and 3 limted edition 7''. i went crazy i thought about it for a while and i had to get it i just had to have it. well here is the full album streaming from npr: music.

Today is my birthday,

Here are a few things i learned in my 20 years of life.

1. Be nice.
Dont be a backstabby friend its not nice. You never know who or what will get back to the person. Plus its kinda a small world you shouldnt bad mouth people.

2. Life is too short, so no regrets.
The only thing i wish i would have done when i was younger is keep all the art work i did when i was in elementary school. Other than that i am pretty happy with my life and the way it turned out. I wouldnt be me if i didnt make the mistakes and learned from them.

3. Surround yourself with like minded people.
Some of my best friends (i mean people i love) are older people i mean one of them belongs to the red hats society. But these women truly get me we like the same kinda music, in love with the same actors (echem Mark Harmon), and when i need advice they are there to really listen and give great advice.

4. Dont be afraid to make a mess.
Messes inspire me to create. my whole life is one big creative mess heres to many more years of messy paint, colored water, painted hands, splatters, running glue, glitter trails, and the beautiful end result!

The photo shoot was kinda amazing we started out driving to find this abandoned house. We ended up finding some other place those are the ones with the hot pink boots (btw they are so my favorite get it pink boots!) then we actually found the beach (thats the one with the jumpsuit) and took some with a rock wall and a creek. on the other side of the beah we found a tree root and we took pictures there too but those arent up yet. in the afternoon we went to the graffiti wall down town and took a buch of fun crazy photos there these are my favorite!
