its been a crazy ride!

mid terms are over! (YAY!!!) and spring break started. I have a few things to catch you up on and some ambitious projects to share with you all. i feel like i am finally getting my creative mojo back and i am really excited to share it all with you. (i also have some shopaholic stories to share)

Studios: Weaving & Fibers

When i started out the new semester i was kinda sad because i wanted my break to last longer. When i actually got into going to my classes i was beyond excited when i went into my weaving and fibers class. Our first project we built our looms. Then we warped it (added the vertical yarn to the loom). By far this is my favorite class i have taken so far. I am excited to see what i can create in this class. while searching for fun fiber projects i stumbled on thewool and the gang blog. they have some amazing photos of fibers, weaving, and yarn. The shop is pretty amazing also (i wish i could afford some of that stuff because it would be amazing to knit!)

i am so addicted its not even funny

i am going crazy insane. i want starbucks so badly!!! its driving my to the brink of obsessing about it.......the only problem is i dont want to drive all the way to the mall to get some because i am way too cold!

New Year, New ideas!

Hello again!

In this new year i have new goals, new ideas, and a blog redesign. some changes will happen gradually others will happen over night! I have realized i have lost my voice not only in my personal life...but in my own blog as well. I started out wanting to inspire people with my art along with what inspires me to create. I ended up getting side tracked writing posts that were fun but didnt have much substance to them(all photos and no written content). 

A wise person once told me that as long as you learned something from what you have created, even if it isnt what you really have set out to do it was worth while.

This year i have some BIG! plans for my little blog!

mid terms have totally kicked my butt!!

so i finally gave in and changed my blonde hair to RED!!! i am really excited about this new change.

i felt like i was stuck in this daily rut. nothing changed nothing was exciting anymore even shopping was not fun anymore. so i decided to change it. now its a new me, new attitude, new artjournal new life. i plan to take more risks, be more fun, eat whatever whenever. and just be happy. 

so this is my brand new art journal. as you can kinda see i decided to name it norwegian wood (like the beatles album/song)

I plan to share more of my new adventures,prompts and just fun stuff on the journaling blog. along with a prompt on how i to start off a new journal.

well now i am off to finish a ton of painting homework i hope to share pictures of that and funny little stories that happen that goes along with being an artstudent.

My First Week of School!

August 30th i started a whole new semester of school. I have to say i have been overwhelmingly happy with the classes i have chosen to take.  For me what makes a class interesting is a professor who is passionate about the subject he or she is teaching. The only problem i have been having all week is i have been having dizzy spells and crazy headaches.  Other than my health issues everything has been going pretty well. Painting, Photo Litho, and Screen are my favorite classes to get into. The history & art history classes are fun to listen to.  I plan to share more personal photos when i am creating my prints or painting projects. Also the art rooms are pretty crazy you never know what kind of art work you will find in the halls or just lying around.


This is inbetween both the print 1 studio and the photo litho studio i thought it was kinda funny in a modest mouse dashboard kinda way.

I also am taking an art journaling class with the lovely Vivianna from polka dot robot. So in between painting little freaking boxes with oil paint and coming up with a plan of study for my intermediate print class. I like to relax by making the art journal pages from the class while listening to the new jenny and johnny album. totally the best way to spend the first days of an already overwhelming semester.

Four Simple Goals.

Miss Elsie is doing a small challenge before the new year (because lets face it we always need goals)
My four simple goals are:

1.Be Myself
Some times i can get caught up in friends drama, or what I'm  doing, or be influenced by other people that some times i forget who i truly am and i get wound up and freak out and change myself for other people. I want this year and new school semester to be truly me and i am not going to let people make me feel uncomfortable for who i am and what i believe in.



2.Make Pieces That i am Proud of
I am an art student and this semester i am taking 3 studio classes. Intermediate Printmaking, Photo Lithography, and Painting. Last semester i took photo and i make pieces just to complete the assignment and i didnt make many pieces that i was proud of. I want to change that i want to think how can i use this assignment and make it work for what i want to do so we can all be happy!



3.Try not to look like a slob
trying to rush, get good grades, making messes, looking some what decent ususally isnt  really a top priority. thats why i want to make it a goal i want to look put together. even if its just jeans and cute top.




4. Enjoy Whats left of the warm weather!
Here where i live and go to school is the weirdest place ever. we can have sunshine, rain, sleet, and snow all in one day. i am not making this up we have the weiredest weather i plan to enjoy the rest of whats left of summer weather before we go back to school.
